BALI - SANUR, UBUD, WATERFALLS
We spent two years in China from 2017 to 2019. Although we had never dreamed of going to Asia, especially not China, we fell in love with both the country and the continent. To mark the end of our stay and our departure in a meaningful way, we decided to take one last trip somewhere during our final week. After much selection, we chose Bali.
BALI - NUSA PENIDA
On our fourth day on the island, we took a speed boat to Nusa Penida. If you’re looking for a sea with countless shades of blue, sandy beaches, and rocky cliffs that stand in contrast to the natural landscape, you’ll find it here. We had one day to get a taste of Nusa Penida’s diversity.
BALI - MOUNT BATUR HIKE
One of our plans for our days in Bali was to watch the sunrise from the summit of Mount Batur. To reach our goal, we left our hotel at 1:30AM. We had about a 1.5-hour drive ahead, and we stopped once along the way for a light breakfast. We arrived at the parking lot around half past three, and from there, together with many other adventurous tourists, we set off for the summit.
BALI - TURTLES, TEMPLES, BEACHES
The morning promised to be interesting because it served a noble purpose: we were rescuing a turtle. Aside from the fact that we actually released one baby turtle back into the ocean and could comfort ourselves with the belief that it would reach adulthood, the Turtle Rescue Center didn’t exactly lift our mood.
WHY SRI LANKA? - ROUND TRIP
Why not? Seriously, though, in my next post I’ll try to summarize why we chose this country as our next destination and why I think we made the best decision.
FROM NEGOMBO TO POLONNARUWA
The first three stops on our 14-day tour of Sri Lanka were Negombo, Anuradhapura, and Polonnaruwa. In content and cultural aspects, this was perhaps the most intense part of our trip.
FROM POLONNARUWA TO KANDY
Continuing our journey through Sri Lanka, in this episode I’ll take you from Polonnaruwa to Kandy. In our itinerary, we included Sigiriya and Dambulla in addition to Kandy.
FROM NUWARA ELIYA TO COLOMBO
In this part of our trip to Sri Lanka, we’ll travel from Nuwara Eliya to Colombo, our final stop on this wonderful island.
SYDNEY - LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT
If someone had told me more than a year ago that we’d be spending the holidays in Sydney, I would have laughed at them. Of course, I would have laughed even if they’d said we’d be living in China. And here we are, living in China, from where we traveled to Sydney for a week to visit our friend.
WOLLEMI NATIONAL PARK - CAMPING
This story is about our first camping trip. We traveled quite a distance to make it happen, all the way to Australia. We pitched our tent in the Blue Mountains.
GLOW WORM TUNNEL - HIKING
Continuing our adventure in the Blue Mountains, we finished breakfast, took down our tents, packed up our tents, and drove to the starting point of our hike. We were looking at a hike of about 7 km to the Glow Worm Tunnel.
SYDNEY - SIGHTSEEING
During our week-long stay, we didn’t just admire the natural beauty of the Blue Mountains, we also got to explore Sydney. We didn’t have any set plans; we just followed the suggestions of a friend who lives there. Of course, we didn’t have time to do everything, but I think the trip turned out to be very fulfilling overall.
HELLO PHU QUOC!
The story began in the fall, when we decided to take a trip for Christmas. Specifically, to a warm place, for the first time in our lives. After considering several options, we decided on Phu Quoc.
PHU QUOC - OUR EXPERIENCES
Phu Quoc is part of Vietnam and is also its largest island. The weather there is pleasant, but it’s best to avoid the particularly rainy season (June–November). Why do I think it’s worth traveling to Phu Quoc? You can read about that in this post.
