It’s winter, though according to the Chinese calendar, spring is slowly approaching. The first sign of this is that the plum trees are blooming, shyly, but slowly. Their hesitation is understandable. A week or two ago it was 16°, while this week it was SNOWING! Snowfall isn’t a very common sight around here. Some say it’s been 13 years since the last time we had this much snow, though more reliable data suggests it was about 3 years ago.
The city was abuzz; young and old, big and small, were out on the streets and in the parks, throwing snowballs, building snowmen or simply photographing the beautiful creations of nature. I consider myself lucky to be able to see this side of the city as well. I took a few photos myself and here are a few of them.
